PLA Metal (Iron) 1.75mm — 1KG/2.2LB
Prints made from AMOLEN Metal PLA are genuinely magnetic. The 20% iron powder content means finished parts respond to magnets, carry authentic metallic weight, and develop a characteristic iron surface that goes far beyond a visual effect. Sand, polish, or treat with chemical patinas — rust accelerators and blackening agents work directly on the iron in the print, producing results that read as cast or forged metal rather than extruded plastic.
Post-Processing
Fresh prints emerge with a dull iron-gray surface. Light sanding reveals metallic luster. Burnishing brings out a polished sheen. Chemical patina solutions — rust accelerators, acid blackening, and liver-of-sulfur treatments — react with the iron powder to create authentic aged metal finishes. Prop makers, cosplay fabricators, and model builders use this workflow to produce pieces that are visually indistinguishable from real iron castings.
Nozzle Requirement
Hardened steel nozzle required. Iron powder is highly abrasive — brass nozzles will wear rapidly and produce inconsistent extrusion. Not suitable for sustained printing with stock brass or PTFE-lined hotend configurations.

🌵 Why Buy from VectorDesignsArizona?
We run a large and growing 3D print farm out of Tucson, Arizona — and the filaments we carry are the ones loaded in our own machines. As an authorized reseller, we only sell what we've personally used and relied on. Every material in our store has been tested in real production runs, not just sampled. When we recommend a filament, it's not a sales pitch, it's what's actually running through our printers right now.
